David Messina, VP Marketing and Product Management, Xangati
Just like the iconic Energizer Bunny, our free Xangati for ESX keeps on going and going and going! We’ve just unveiled a new version of the Xangati for ESX—making it an even more powerful tool for you to monitor your VI (virtual infrastructure). And we have no plans to stop. As long as we can continue to add value into our infrastructure performance management (IPM) solutions, we will do so. And the Xangati for ESX is no exception—even at no cost!
Look at what we’ve done already. Since the free tool was introduced at VMworld last August, we’ve already released two significant upgrades. You—our partners, customers and industry followers—have been instrumental in driving both of these upgrades.
You said you wanted an easier, more intuitive installation process. We listened. The first upgrade release included a new and simplified install wizard driven process designed to make it as easy as possible for you to set up the product. We also achieved a 50 percent reduction in the number of screens required to get to a working Xangati UI.
When we released the Xangati VDI Dashboard in March—and with it our Performance Health Engine—the response was incredibly positive. Our purpose with the Performance Health Engine was to make management of your virtualized environment as comprehensive, streamlined and intuitive as possible. With the feedback we received, it is clear that our purpose was met.
The next step was logical. We decided to take some of those capabilities and put them into our free Xangati for ESX, so that everyone could experience the benefits.
And why would we want to give away this capability?
The answer lies in movement—and moving forward. And that’s what Xangati’s mission is all about. We want to move virtualization forward and providing the best possible virtualization management solution is the key to making that a reality—for us, for you and for the industry.
So, even though we are adding significant—and valuable—new features to a VMware management tool that we give away for free, it creates movement. And—being honest here—that movement (of course) also supports our own business objectives and those of our partners—in addition to moving forward what we know is a pretty unique technology.
What specifically have we done in this upgraded version?
Well, by making the performance health index available on Xangati for ESX, virtualization managers can now use a free tool to get a baseline for their infrastructure. With our powerful analytics engine, that baseline can be continuously compared with real-time data feeds, immediately alerting managers if anything out of the ordinary appears to be happening within the ESX host and its critical server or desktop VMs.
So you get the clearest possible picture of any problems that exist in the VI—live and continuous. And it still includes all of the features you’ve come to expect from Xangati—automated DVR-recordings, dynamic navigation capabilities and the ability to fully monitor a single ESX host. Check out our updated installation video highlighting all of its features and download your free copy by clicking here.
To provide all of this in a free tool is something that really sets Xangati apart from the rest of the pack. But we believe that by providing you with more power, we give you more confidence. And when you’re confident, you’re willing to take the next step forward. You’re willing to virtualize that line of business (LOB) application you’ve been holding back on due to concerns about performance degradation. You’re willing to roll out that VDI initiative, knowing it will work as it should for your end users—from day one.
Nothing manages performance like Xangati for ESX. But don’t expect us to rest on our laurels. Xangati will keep on beating that drum—and moving forward.
